FAQ

Is my data safe?

Yes. Vitae never stores your business data on our servers. All business data — ledger, assets, health, fitness, todos, reflections — is stored via SwiftData on your device and in the private iCloud database under your Apple ID. Even if the App were discontinued, your data would remain intact.

How do I sync across devices?

Vitae syncs via Apple CloudKit. Make sure: (1) all your devices are signed in to the same Apple ID; (2) Vitae is enabled in System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud; (3) iCloud Sync is on inside the App’s Settings. First-time sync may take 1–2 minutes.

What if AI receipt capture gets things wrong?

Tap ‘Scan Receipt’ while adding an entry and AI fills in amount, time and category for you — please double-check the key fields before saving. The original image is not persisted. If the recognition is clearly off, attach the screenshot via Settings → App Feedback and we’ll keep improving it.

What data does AI Reflections use?

The ‘Self Know’ module can generate a weekly or monthly review in one tap. AI mines the period for highlights, patterns and questions worth asking. Explicit consent is required on first use; there is a daily call cap. The process does not send raw images and does not send sensitive raw data like health or location — only brief text from the modules you opted in.

What’s built into the diet / fitness modules?

The diet module ships with 45 common foods (covering staples, meat & dairy, seafood, vegetables, fruit and legumes) — each with nutrition values and an icon, ready to log in one tap; you can also create custom foods. The fitness module ships with 83 standard exercises (chest 11 / back 12 / shoulder 10 / arms 14 / legs 15 / core 10 / cardio 12) across four tracking types (weight+reps / reps / duration / distance). You can build your own training plans from these exercises.

Where do the health / diet ring data come from?

The activity ring uses Move / Exercise / Stand from Apple Health; the diet ring uses protein / carbs / fat macros recorded in the diet module. You can fine-tune HealthKit access in Health App → Data Access & Devices → Vitae.

What do Shortcuts / Lock Screen widgets support?

Two App Intents are built in: ‘Quick Add Todo’ (with voice + natural-language) and ‘Scan Receipt’ (recognize and save an entry without opening the app). The Lock Screen / Home widget offers one-tap ‘Add Todo’. You can trigger them via Shortcuts, Siri, Control Center, etc.

Which devices and OS versions are supported?

Vitae currently supports iPhone and requires iOS 17 or later. Devices signed in to the same Apple ID share the same iCloud data.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Members can go to Settings → General → Export Data, choose modules (Finance, Health, To-Do, Days, Self-Knowing) and a time range, and export a single .json file to share with an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, or save to Files. Exported files can’t currently be imported back.

How do I delete all my data?

Uninstalling Vitae removes all local data. To also clear iCloud data, go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on iPhone, find Vitae and delete its data.

How do I report an issue?

Settings → App Feedback inside the app gives you multiple channels, or email us directly via the address below.
