Our commitment
CutePet Diary is a local-first app:
- The pet profiles, entries, photos, videos and other content you create are stored only on your device and in your own private iCloud space. The developer cannot access them
- No account and no login. We do not collect identity information such as your name, phone number or email
- No ads, no cross-app tracking, and no use of IDFA
- To improve the app, it collects anonymous usage statistics (see section 2). These never include anything you record
1. What we do not collect
CutePet Diary does not collect any of the following:
- Name, email, phone number or other identity information
- Advertising identifier (IDFA), identifier for vendor (IDFV), device name
- Location or IP address (the server does not log your IP)
- Any content you create, including pet information, diary text, photos, videos, tags, search keywords or expense amounts
2. Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which features work well and what needs improving, the app collects the following anonymous usage statistics:
- Anonymous install ID: randomly generated on your device the first time you open the app, unrelated to your identity; it changes if you reinstall
- Usage: when you open the app and for how long, which screens you visit and which features you use (for example “added a weight entry”, without the entry’s content)
- Overview data: ranges such as number of pets and number of entries (e.g. “2–5 pets”), whether iCloud sync, notifications and Home Screen widgets are on, and whether you are a member
- Device and environment: device model, OS version, app version, system language and region, App Store country or region, dark mode and text size settings
- Purchases: the screen and product from which a purchase was started, used to match Apple’s anonymous transaction notifications. We cannot see your Apple Account or payment information
- Errors: the type of error when a feature fails, without your content
This data is used only to improve the app.
3. Where your content is stored
All data you create in the app (pet profiles, entries, photos, videos, reminders, etc.) is stored in only two places:
- Locally on your device: in the app sandbox via iOS Core Data
- Your own iCloud private database (if you turn on iCloud sync): using the Apple CloudKit Private Database. This is a private space in your iCloud account that only you can access. The developer cannot access, view or download your iCloud data.
You can turn off iCloud sync at any time in Home → iCloud Sync. Once off, data stays only on your device.
4. App permissions
CutePet Diary requests the following system permissions only when you actively use the related feature:
- Camera: to take photos of your pet (only when you tap “Take Photo”)
- Photos: to pick photos from your library or save photos to it
- Microphone: to record sound when filming pet videos
- Local notifications: to deliver the vaccine, deworming, daily entry and other reminders you set up. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device and never go through any server.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Third-party services
- Apple StoreKit: handles payments. Apple processes the payment; the developer only receives Apple’s anonymous transaction notifications (product, amount, country or region) and cannot see your Apple Account or payment information.
- Apple CloudKit: syncs data between your devices (if enabled). CloudKit data is stored in your own iCloud account and protected by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- The app integrates no other third-party SDKs, including but not limited to advertising, third-party analytics, push, social login or customer service systems. For anonymous usage statistics, see section 2.
6. Data deletion
- All data is removed from your device when you delete the app.
- If iCloud sync is on, delete cloud data in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → CutePet Diary.
- What you record is not on our servers. Anonymous usage statistics cannot be linked to a specific person; if you have questions, contact us at the email below.
7. Children’s privacy
The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. We only collect the anonymous usage statistics listed in section 2 and no identity information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy because of legal requirements or feature changes. The updated version will be published on this page with its update date; significant changes to what is collected will be clearly announced in the app.
